Ocean Light

Reclaimed by the sea, Reimagined for you - Giving ocean waste a second life

In collaboration with Tess Neuhuys

The worldwide population produces 300 million tonnes of plastic waste yearly. A significant amount of this plastic waste—8 million tons annually, to be exact—ends up in our cherished oceans. For a better and more sustainable future, we think we owe it to our oceans to do better.

At the entrance of a raw, organic restaurant corridor, a light-wall made from recycled ocean plastic leads guests through an immersive journey. The installation invites reflection on sustainability while seamlessly blending art and nature.

The concept of the water wall was to only use recycled items from the ocean and create an art piece from recycled waste. To foster a sustainable art piece of the ocean from the ocean.

An honest installation, showcasing every detail of the artwork to provide guests with trustworthy information, leaving them with a deeper understanding of the issue of plastic in the ocean.

As guests pass through the long corridor, the installation of the water wall evokes a sense of depth and relaxation, enhancing the restaurant’s mysterious and natural ambiance. Staying true to the concept of honesty, rawness, and nature, the use of recycled ocean plastic offers guests an enlightening experience from the very start.
