The Living Capsule

In nature nothing is created and nothing is destroyed, but everything is transformed. -  Antoine Laurent Delavosier

This project explores a home designed using three box containers (360 × 540 cm)

Located in Karlshamn, southeastern Sweden, the house is nestled in a forested landscape near the sea and mountains. The design features locally sourced grey stone - a key regional material, which is also highlighted in the clay model of the house.

The client’s needs were met by creating an “inside-outside” experience through panoramic windows with a biophilic design. They desired a summerhouse with minimal cleaning requirements. Therefore, the concept focused on rounded corners and integrated furniture to prevent dust accumulation, making cleaning effortless.

The biophilic elements of the surroundings are incorporated, replicated, and seamlessly integrated into the space. In the bathroom, this is reflected in the shell-shaped bathtub and sink.
